Hello and welcome!

Our goal at Alternative Energy, Inc. is to help home owners and small businesses reduce environmental impact, lower utility bills and live in sustainable comfort - with energy and water efficient devices!

We are proud partners in the Environmental Protection Agency - WaterSense and Department of Energy - ENERGY STAR programs.

Please check back often – as we continually expand our offering of products that will make a difference in your utility bills and carbon footprint.  Coming soon - smart-home switching devices; energy efficient lighting, solar panels, tankless hot water heaters, more solar gadgets, composting and recycling suppliers and ENERGY STAR appliances.

Here in our home base of historic Chester County, Pennsylvania (40 miles west of Philadelphia), we are installers of solar hot water and photovoltaic systems, power conditioning devices, tankless hot water heaters and water efficient plumbing – through our team of Authorized Service Providers.  We also offer comprehensive energy audits – using a blower door and infrared camera.

Founder's biography

Bill Finch is the founder and president of Alternative Energy, Inc.  He brings 25 years of business experience to this new venture as an environmentalist and public policy professional - with Fortune 100, start-up and government experience.

• 15 years with Hewlett-Packard and their technology spin off - Agilent Technologies
• Member - Smart Energy Initiative of Southeastern Pennsylvania
• Member - Chester County Commissioners - Green House Gas Reduction Taskforce
• Member – Pennsylvania Great Green Jobs Coalition
• Former Corporate Fellow of the National Governors Association (NGA) – Served five years on the NGA Environmental Advisory Committee.
• Served as Recycling Coordinator in Chester County, PA - Department of Environmental Health
• Certified “Master Composter” by Penn State University

Bill is politically active and is a committee person with his party’s caucus.  He works state and congressional campaigns in support of moderate and environmentally focused candidates of both parties.
